In the business world, it is always first a dream, then preparation and action. That is when something worthwhile gets achieved. Every great achievement of man starts with a dream. What you do with the dream is what determines what the dream becomes. You may be a big dreamer OK but without acting on your dreams, they remain dreams in perpetuity. Great achievers not only dream, they are notorious for always acting positively on their dreams. The real reason they are the ones who get to achieve so much. They just don’t dream, they act. Acting promptly on your dreams is one great way to succeed in any venture.

Just take a look around you. These skyscrapers you see, the airplanes, the trains, coaches, cars and lorries you are seeing were at some point merely dreams people dreamed about. These people acted on their dreams and the great wonders of the world became realities. It is surprising true, that if you can dream it, you can do it. The will to get things done is what makes the difference. Even in your personal life, dreaming of academic achievements, professional achievements and even material possessions begins with a dream. Acting on your dreams leads to meaningful and tangible achievements.

How Unwavering Attention Grows Your Business

Bruce Lee may have been a successful and renowned martial artist but perhaps unknown to him, his lessons in that beautiful trade of his apply squarely in our everyday business lives. It is difficult if not impossible to get any business problem solved if you are unable to direct your focus on the problem and how to solve it.

To succeed in any venture, you must be able concentrate fully on it and what it takes to achieve it. Sadly and very pathetically, most people have no idea of the giant capacity they can immediately command when they focus all of our resources on mastering just one vital aspect of their business lives. That is the magic of focus. If you want to add more power to your business life, you must be able to concentrate all your energies on a limited set of targets involving the growth of your business. That is what brings about favorable results more easily. It is human nature somehow to become exactly what you focus on most of the time. It is for that reason business gurus always advise their mentees to always endeavor to concentrate their thoughts fully on any business they have at hand at any particular point in time. As Alexander Graham Bell likes to say, “The sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus." So it is in all aspects of our business lives. Take my advice, to get it done, you must fully concentrate on it and concentrate you must unless you want to remain stagnated where you currently are. I believe you can do better, but do you? Just find your focus and you will.

Why Action is Key to Success

Yes indeed! The key to success is action, real action sustained and determined in the direction of your goals. Anyone can succeed if they do things deliberately sustained and directed towards achieving set goals. It is not about wishing or dreaming just like that. To get anything done, there must be some sustained “doing” otherwise nothing happens.

Have you ever heard the cliché, “action speaks louder than words?” Good if you have. What you do speaks louder and better for you than what you say. That is what it means. The more you do, the more you get done and the more you succeed at any venture. Do you want to succeed? Just roll up your sleeves right where you are and get busy. That is the only sure route to success.

Always Think and Dream Big

All through civilization, those who have made the most difference are those who started as dreamers. They dreamed and acted on their dreams and the world has never been the same again. “The greatest achievement was at first, and for a time, a dream.” If you dream big, you achieve big. Many dreamed what may have been at the time taken as impossible dreams but with the help of man’s creative imagination, the impossible became the possible. The story is now being told all over the world how Henry Ford who was born in 1863 in a farm near Dearborn, Michigan, USA started the Ford Motor Company. He was a mechanic and dreamed of one day building a “horseless wagon” and mass-producing it. This appeared then to be an impossible dream because all forms of transportation were mostly by horse-drawn carriages. He followed up this dream by experimenting at his leisure hours. By 1893, he completed the construction of his first automobile. By 1903, Ford Motor Company was born and his dream of “belting-the-earth” with automobiles began. This led to the production of the popular Ford Model T. By 1927, about 15 million of the cars had been sold. The impossible had become the possible and Mr. Ford became very wealthy as a result. It is pertinent to mention that Mr. Ford had limited education, was of average intelligence and just as human as you and I.

Any successful venture began as an idea. Dreams metamorphose into ideas. It takes just one good idea followed by action to change your life forever. Just think about it. Is it money, power or happiness you want? Anything, all you need is to think about it. Put your mind to it and follow through with action. You can never miss the mark. We are what we think, period! A long time ago, my favorite poet Walter D. Wintle captured it all perfectly in the following verses.

 “If you think you are beaten, you are,

If you think you dare not, you don’t.

If you like to win but you think you can’t,

It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost.

For out of the world we find,

Success begins with a fellow’s will—

 “One small step for man and one giant leap for mankind”, these were the words of Neil Armstrong an American astronaut and the first man to walk on the moon. This was in July 1969, a few years after President J. F. Kennedy who before his unfortunate assassination in 1963, sent notice to the world that America will put a man on the moon within 10 years. Today, man practically “lives” on the moon, thanks to the great American dream. You too can dream, act and be someone.
