Why You Must Resolve to Always Press On

Birds nest holding silver and gold coins on top of a dollar bill.
“The only people who have no obstacles are those in the cemetery.” – Norman Vincent Peale

Whatever you do, you can never make much progress if you do not have a habit of always pressing on no matter the odds. Yes, there will be obstacles. Yes, there will be discouragement here and there. So what? These are to be expected. There is no human endeavor on this planet without commensurate obstacles. Just think about that. Once you are alive, your daily battles with life and living have to do with solving problems and combating obstacles. Just reflect a bit. At any point in time, you are either in a problem, heading out of a problem or heading straight into a problem. There is neither an escape nor a hiding place from life’s problems unless you are dead. There is absolutely nothing you can do to stop obstacles altogether. What works is your ability to conquer and surmount all obstacles that come your way with a firm resolve to get to your destination. That is the mindset of achievers and successful people.

Always press on! Just keep pressing on no matter the obstacles. If giving up is not an option for you, it is possible to always find the will to press on. Come to think of it, why should giving up even be an option? If it is, it shows right from the outset, you were not determined enough to get the thing done. Even if you did not avert your mind to it then, that is exactly why you made giving up one of the options available to you. If and when giving up is not one of the options, you will discover to your greatest amazement that you will get through all the problems at hand and resolve them fully to achieve your goals. That is how things work out when you are determined enough to get things done. Just press on! That’s the way to go.

Don’t Be Afraid to Take a Chance

“The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it.” ~ Debbi Fields

Life and living is all about choices and taking chances in whatever you do and wherever you find yourself. The better the choices you make, the better your personal and business life. Taking a chance may naturally involve risks. That is Ok! The chances you take will allow you seize opportunities which can make a lot of difference in your life. The more the opportunities you take, the more your life grows in quality, experience and achievements. Everyone gets to have their own opportunities but it is only those who take a chance at doing something with the opportunities who get to make meaningful progress.

There is a Latin Proverb which says, "Fortune favors the bold but abandons the timid." Yes indeed! Only the bold take chances, the reason they appear to get more fortunate that others. It takes boldness to dare and to take risks. Those who do always manage to get things done faster and better, the reason they tend to be better achievers. When opportunities come your way as they are bound to do from time to time, you must be able to take a chance at such opportunities before you earn any benefits. If you do nothing either out of fear or indecision, you get nothing as far as such opportunities are concerned. Be a risk taker today and watch your fortunes grow as a result.

How Fear Paralyzes

“Don’t let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning.” ~ Robert Kiyosaki

As human beings, we are all susceptible to fear, but the way each person handles their own fears is of utmost importance. In our business world, the fear of failing is always real and present in any deal you get involved it. That’s OK. What however is not OK is allowing your fear to paralyze you and prevent you from taking positive actions in the best interest of your business. Such fears stunt growth and progress and at times, ultimate failure which you feared all along. It is OK to lose some and to win some. The moment you allow the fear of losing overcome the excitement of winning, you will lose no doubt. Winning and losing are always two outcomes to expect in any business deal. When out of fear you are fixated on losing, your chances of winning become very slim if not lost outright.

Take my advice. Always find ways to suppress the fear of losing. Don't dissipate valuable energy trying to cover up losses. Remember that you can lose some and win some and life goes on. If you lose, the best thing to do is to learn from your loss then move on to the next challenge. Looking back, if you learned something from your past losses, you haven’t really lost. That is why it's OK to lose sometimes provided you learn something as a result. There is always some sadness in losing and some commensurate excitement when you win. Finding ways not to allow your fear of losing to overwhelm your excitement of winning is what guarantees positive advancement in any venture you chose for yourself.

Why What You Think Leads the Way

“People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves, they have the first secret of success.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale

There is nothing anyone can achieve in this world without their thinking making it possible. That is where achievement begins for everyone. Just name it, anything you feel like doing must first be well thought out. If not, chances of starting at all are very slim talk less of making any meaningful headway in form of progress. The thinking process helps to put the entire business or enterprise in proper perspective even before commencement. The thinking process gives the picture and the roadmap of what is to be done. Following what you’ve already thought about is a great way to measure progress and to be sure you are on course. Knowing you are on course at any point in time encourages more progress and eventual completion and success. Note that without what you already thought about, it is difficult if not impossible to follow this natural order.

If your thinking says it can be done, it will. If however it says it can’t be done, it is almost impossible to get it done. That is the real power of thoughts in the process of general achievements. First, you must believe you can and you will. Your thinking process makes that possible. If however you think you can’t, certainly you can’t. Putting efforts when your thinking says you can’t is one sure way to dissipate energy and time while achieving nothing. Some waste! That is clearly no way to go. To get anything done, you must first be sure you think it through before attempting to act it through.

Why you Need Abundant Faith to Get Things Done

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” ~ Helen Keller
Embarking on any business is like taking a leap of faith. Most times, you know what you want to do but you can never be sure if the results will come out as you expect. You take the plunge all the same hoping with some measure of confidence that things will turn out right. Without hope, nothing worthwhile can be successfully achieved in our world. With faith, you get optimistic fairly easily. Optimism is what really fires everyone on to get things done as planned. Without it, most times you find yourself stuck in the starting blocks of what you have planned to do.

If you are determined to achieve maximum success in your business, you must learn the principle that real progress is made one step at a time. If you take one step, with hope and optimism, you can take the second and the third and the fourth and so on until you get the job done. When you are building a house, all you need is a brick at a time added on until the structure comes out. It is with hope and optimism you add these bricks because you believe a building will result from your efforts. There lies your faith in the steps you are taking.  With hope, faith and confidence, Football games are won a play at a time. A department store grows bigger one customer at a time. Notice how all these big accomplishments come about as a result of a series of little accomplishments stringed together with hope, faith and optimism. Everyone gets these results and really succeed provided they follow the rules.

How Mistakes Can Help Your Business

“Forget past mistakes. Forget failures. Forget everything except what you’re going to do now and do it.” ~ William Durant

Everyone gets to make some mistakes in our everyday ventures. Some people make mistakes and press on while others allow mistakes to cripple their progress. Many are afraid to fail so they end up doing nothing. What about you? Are you afraid of failure? Have you been failing all along? Are you now paralyzed because of past failures? Cheer up my friend. You are not alone in your travails. It's OK to fail. Don't be afraid to fail. Don't waste energy trying to cover up failure. Everyone fails sometimes regardless of who they are and how gifted and talented they are. What matters is to learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. Progress has got to be made no matter the odds because if you're not failing, you're not growing. Simple! Since growth is what you want, your failures become insignificant once there is evidence of growth. Think about it.

No matter how unpleasant your past experiences are, don’t allow that to divert your attention from the work at hand. Focus on whatever you have to do and ensure you get it done. That is the best way to make unhindered progress irrespective of your past experiences no matter how unpleasant. Everyone fails sometimes so what is the big deal here. Learning from your failures and adjusting to do things better is always the way to go. That is the route to success.

How to Make the Best of How Things Work Out for You

“Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.” ~ John Wooden

Hello! How are things working out for you right now? Do you feel overwhelmed or motivated? Cheer up, you are not alone. Life sucks and it is at times a bitch, but we all got to live anyway. It pays to get off your butt and start kicking along to get things done. You’ve got to make the best out of what life throws at you. You can only make progress when you learn to make the best out of everything life throws your way. This is because things work out best for people who make the best of how things work out.

Why Success is Gradual

“To succeed… You need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.” ~ Tony Dorsett

That something must also be worthwhile and challenging enough to set you in positive motion for results. Many people are not lazy. They are simply not finding anything worthwhile that challenges them enough to achieve something. That is why they may appear lazy. The moment they identify things which challenge them, their talents and zeal to get things done simply get ignited. That is exactly when success beckons.

Once you decide to do something, you will discover that every big accomplishment is a series of little accomplishments. As you achieve little accomplishments, growth begins. These little accomplishments add up to big accomplishments as you continue to make progress. The reason is because, the person determined to achieve maximum success learns the principle that progress is made one step at a time. A house is built a brick at a time. Football games are won a play at a time. A department store grows bigger one customer at a time. Growth, progress and success take gradual pace with incremental progress made from little accomplishments along the way. Once you identify something that holds your attention, motivates and inspires you, you are on your own way to success.

The Power of Abundant Faith

But first, you must believe.”-- Peter Pan

Have faith in yourself. Have faith in God. This done, there is no problem or obstacle known to man which you can’t effectively tackle. Faith is therefore all about your belief system and it is a mind thing. If you think you can, you can. Remember that the only limitations you have are those you place on yourself. Having absolute faith in your abilities is what makes the major difference between what you can achieve and what you can’t. What people say or think about you in this wise count for nothing. You can do anything you think you can even if others think otherwise. What you think is what counts the most hence you must always have absolute faith in yourself and your abilities. What crowns your efforts is your faith in God. He is the ultimate station of faith.

In the quest for human progress and achievement, when everything else fails, people generally turn to God. This is faith. Belief in God helps to build confidence, conquers fear, emboldens and fires a person on to achieve. Faith is one of the most powerful of all positive human emotions. People readily walk to their deaths on account of faith. The Holy Bible tells us that “faith can move mountains.” Faith moves people to achieve what ordinarily will appear daunting. Faith is a state of the mind which gives life, power and impetus to your thought process.
